Two

Sunday, 30 August 2009

Yesterday I made two treasuries in a row. Started out with back to school theme from the window shopping and since with the right gear you can move mountains I turned it into more general geared for a new project theme:

Featured shops: Evrydiki, buckscountyframes, sycamorestreetpress, lunaticart, avrilloreti, ebenotti, loveartworks, vaisto, melaniefavreau, baahar, maiziedesigns, blissinateacup

Then for the treasury main I played with one of my favourite colour combos - red and blue:

Featured shops: JaneBoFelt, ebenotti, YannPendaries, ememem, jenhewett, UnaOdd, kbuchheit, budpnq, jesophi, adornbyamysingley, EllaPhantePhashion, Sigmosaics

Some of these artists participate in Etsy Project Embrace - see the related Etsy forum thread here.

Lydia necklace

Friday, 14 August 2009

This is my entry for the European Street Team weekly challenge hosted by toosis. The theme this week - Tim Burton style Gothic fantasy. Wonderful theme! Tim Burton is one of my favourite directors and I knew right away that something black would be just perfect. The finished necklace needed a name, so I pondered a little about heroines appearing in Tim Burton's films and Lydia seemed to be the name I'm looking for. Do you know the film? It's Beetle Juice. Lydia has grown up since then and I think she would like to wear something like this.

See more entries of the EST challenge here.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. By the way I'm impatiently looking forward to Alice in Wonderland

Mushrooms

Thursday, 13 August 2009

We are into mushroom picking over here. Let's say it's our national sports since we have mushroom picking championships and special competitions for mushroom picking at night. The season is in full bloom, so I've picked some lovely mushrooms for you on Etsy. Happy window shopping!

Drum roll, please

Monday, 10 August 2009

It's time to announce the winner of my giveaway. I'm using Random.org to draw the lucky number:

And the number 7 is (drum roll, please!)... Melinda!!!
Congratulations!

Animals with superpowers

Here's another treasury that evolved from the weekly window shopping on Etsy - a little more exposure for the featured artists and their creations. And I see it as a kind of creative challenge to expand a small collection of four to the size of a treasury. While I was putting this one together, the previous treasury made to the Etsy front page and this after hours of expiration! A nice surprise from Etsy admin!

Enjoy animals with superpowers (please, read the description of little yellow bear from ememem's shop)!

Small world

Thursday, 6 August 2009

It's time for the weekly window shopping on Etsy! I know, I know - the title of this blog post is a cliche, but it's oh so true. This week I'm inspired by adornbyamysingley who recently made a lovely treasury around the term local. The artists featured below are located in different parts of our planet - USA, Brazil and Netherlands. But there is so much common: the colour (the most obvious), the sources of inspiration (I'm only guessing - it's nature) AND all these wonderful people participate in Etsy Project Embrace.

Burst of colour

Wednesday, 5 August 2009

This is my entry for the European Street Team weekly challenge Burst of colour hosted by sweet JaneBoFelt. Most of my creations could go with that title, so I simply had to take part!

The necklace closes with a small blue vintage button. We had these kind of buttons on our school uniforms back in Soviet Union (now I feel old) and this could be a spare button or one of those I actually had on my uniform in grades 1 or 2 (it's in an excellent condition though). The uniform was quite dreadful and I was very glad I didn't have to wear it through all 12 grades. Soviet Union was gone and so were the uniforms. I still avoid that particular blue, but this button is cute and it was perfect for my necklace.

P.S. Don't forget about the giveaway!

FP again!

Monday, 3 August 2009

Yesterday my treasury made to the Etsy front page and I was happy to hear from Betsy that there have been sales from it. Awesome! Sundays are the lucky days for my treasuries! Congrats to all featured artists! And hugs to Etsy admin!

Meanwhile my summer morning earrings were featured in this beautiful treasury by aforfebre and made to the front page on Friday! Thank you Agustina!

Here is the small abacus necklace I crave for from her shop:
