Butterflies

There's a saying that the first butterfly you see in spring shows what color your summer will be. I'm going to list these butterflies in my shop one by one. An opportunity to choose the color!
Lavender

It's true that blogging is a wonderful way to get to know some really nice people. The palette of this treasury west was inspired by lovely lavender earrings from SparklyPark whom I know from her blog and her nice comments on mine. Thank you, Margaret!

Today I'm off to the library. Need to work on my master thesis and time is so scarce! Meanwhile here are some news from the treasury front. My treasury made to the front page yesterday! Yay! Thank you Etsy! And one of my Time to bloom cards has been featured in this lovely treasury by BeadOyster (her shop is new, so might want to check it out). The title of the treasury is Stop the clock! and this is exactly how I feel at the moment. Thank you for capturing the feeling!
Wonderful wood
Thursday, 26 March 2009
I've been looking for wood on Etsy this week. Here's what I've found.
This cute rose button - wood brooch from Majakp reminds me of the one I had when I was little:
What about some faux bois? I want this backpack from vella:
And here's wonderful mix of wood, glass and resin - sea foam and chocolate no2 bohemian necklace from yukijewelry:

It's time to bloom

My Etsy shop has been neglected for quite some time. There have been so many other things to do besides crafting for it. And then last week I had an idea for this card:
I like how paper and felt look together, how they feel together. Don't you want to touch this card? I know it isn't quite handy for mailing in a regular snail mail envelope, but for any other occasion I think it's perfect.

Guess!
I've seen some beautiful treasuries inspired by a literary work, so here's my tribute to one of my favourite novels. Can you guess it?

What can a girl do after feeling quite miserable for the most part of the week? This is what I did to forget my sore throat and running nose:
Featured shops: Trush, mariterecr, smabla, LittleMsBoutique, yellowfield7, pilotdesign, blissfulimages, diasyflores, SiMakery, JDWolfePottery, hotellemotelle, craftyfolk
And here's lovely black and white treasury by Alona from her amazing little shop rafya.etsy.com - one of my favourite Etsy shops by the way! I'm really fond of her ceramic jewelry and magnets. Thank you for including my small white flower brooch!
Recently I saw someone asking people in Etsy forums, why they make treasuries. What would be my answer? I love to discover new shops and new artists. Someone I'd like to buy some things from, but mostly because of creativity, ideas and inspiration. Yes, inspiration is the key! It's also fun and it's a challenge as well. Putting different items together can be both. And of course making treasuries is a great way to thank nice Etsy people.

The spring begins tomorrow! Hurray! This means that days will be longer than nights and that's something someone living in the north can be really happy about. I'm celebrating the beginning of more light by featuring daringly beautiful and creative Etsy items again.
Ready to redefine your style a little? What about some fun and asymmetry? I found these beautiful black and red fused glass earrings from MintyFreshFusions:

Where is the sun?
Monday, 16 March 2009
It takes too long for spring to arrive. The snow melts too slowly and the sun is hiding too often. I'm impatient, so here's my current treasury. Let's celebrate spring:

Twelve gorgeous items from Latvia made to the front page of Etsy yesterday evening! Yay! I doubted the chances of this kind of treasury to be picked, but got surprised. Thank you Etsy! And thank you artists! Paldies! It's always a treat to see someone from Latvia on the front page, so this time it was really something special. I'm posting the picture of the treasury again. As you can see it was a little altered by admin, but it still features the same amazing sellers. This is how the treasury looked like on the front page:

Coffee is my fuel and this means I just had to do some window shopping for coffee related items on Etsy. Here they are. I'm sure you'll like them even if you don't drink coffee.

What a crazy week! I studied hard and passed my master exam at last!!! Although I'm not quite satisfied with myself, it's good to have it behind me. The exam and reading through all the notes made me think about the basics (in particular and in general) and I ended up with idea for this treasury. Then I found the lovely and funny plate by LoucheLab, so just had to continue:
Featured shops: kromogen, tortillagirl, bikudesigns, larimeloom, LoucheLab, blackbird07, SeaUnicorn, Kreativlink, betsy3, karlita, twinkbeauty, sushipot

There's still enough snow for skiing in Latvia, but snowdrops keep going! Compare how they looked like on February 10. You can see the progress!
