More Secret Santa fun

Tuesday, 14 December 2010

The other Secret Santa game I participated this year was organized by Etsy Project Embrace (EPE) team. My Secret Santa was Kim a.k.a. visionquest and she spoiled me with these loveliest gifts. Thank you so much Kim!

My gift for simplysuzula has also safely reached its destination, but Suz is going to open it only on Christmas, so I won't show you what I made for her until after that.

Shop update

Tuesday, 16 March 2010

Just wanted to show you the newest brooches in my shop. The white brooch is inspired by patterns of the melting snow. There's also something summery about it, so I'm sure to make one for myself to wear it with my white linen blouse. Listed it as a part of the European Street Team weekly challenge The sense of touch and textures hosted by Sabine a.k.a lamarquisedesanges. See more entries on her blog.

Love you back brooch is for the Etsy Project Embrace challenge Butterflies. Lovely theme! There's something infinite about these fragile creatures, so it felt like mix of different materials was what I needed. I love how the lace reminds the structure of butterfly's wing - in real life even more than in pictures.

Snowdrops!

Friday, 12 March 2010

Look what I found while photographing the snow! A thin snow-free line along the southern side of our house. Yay! The first snowdrops!

Last year on March 4th they looked already like this:

What a difference! The forecast says it will be snowing this weekend again, but since the snowdrops are already there, the spring must be nearer as it seems.

I'm getting ready for a creative weekend with two brooches in mind. One has to do with the snow (although I decided to leave icy beads away). The other is for the first creative challenge of Etsy Project Embrace team. I dreamed the idea of it on the edge of falling asleep last night. So there's enough to do.

Enjoy the weekend!

A beautiful place

Saturday, 20 February 2010

How's your weekend so far? We are getting buried in the snow over here and this is why I can't show you my finished armwarmers. It's just too dark for taking photos, so instead of them here's my newest treasury. The inspiration for its colour palette was the Ablaze print by jennifersquires and one by one it just developed into forest themed collection.

Featured Etsians: beib, jennifersquires, meliors, earcandyarts, utilemud, slidesideways, btaylorquilts, ememem, steinschmuckdesign, ikabags, creativelytangled, violetjulia

Happy weekend!

Piano keys

Friday, 29 January 2010

Today I've been busy making treasuries - grabbed both treasury main and treasury west. At first wanted to make something black and white, but ended up with too much black. The poster sketch looked quite depressing. Then I just started all over - added a hint of pink, browsed some Valentine's items and here are the white piano keys:

Featured Etsians: FloremarkShop, jackiepeppermint, Tartelette, lilypottery, psarokokalo, TijaViksna, spinthread, Ravenhill, Lori411, corybethy, ninaglaser, retrospectrovintage

Why not to give the black another chance? Here are the black piano keys:

Featured: clevergirl, lizgrandmaison, mydearthing, larimeloom, jillatay, bunnywithatoolbelt, corrieberrypie, Meganzii, piprobins, btaylorquilts, ErikaPrice, 13bees

Have a balanced weekend!

P.S. Background music - We have a map of the piano

The frog prince

Tuesday, 5 January 2010

I'm back to treasury making :)

As you can guess this one just sprang from yesterday's moodboard. One of those cases when everything develops so smoothly. The frog brooch from 5gardenias was the last item I added. Voila! Do you believe in fairytales?

Featured Etsy artists and shops: azulado, littleNauli, iheartfink, KokoshKnitting, 5gardenias, alatceramics, ing00te, mariastudio, stylinstuff, handebilten, poppyswickedgarden, WildWomanJewelry

Thank you Aija!

Wednesday, 30 December 2009

This going to more like post and run entry, but there's someone I want to thank for the Etsy front page feature again. Most likely the last one this year.

Aija a.k.a. sisterstreasure and gooodmorning was so nice to include my soft pink scarf in this wonderful Etsy Project Embrace themed treasury. Thank you so much!

Aija has wonderful vintage shop sisterstreasure where she sells things like this jacket:

Paris and London

Saturday, 12 December 2009

Here are two treasuries before I sign off for the rest of the weekend. The wooden textures from Wednesday inspired me for the first one. I wanted to include the fantastic paris, in pen and paper by studiokmo, so Christmas in Paris was born:

Featured shops: aforfebre, circlesandsquares, lilypottery, studiokmo, locallibrary, ThePeachTree, GollyBard, StudioElenus, goodliving, DingbatPress, lizgrandmaison, piksipiksi

And after Paris there had to be London. Especially after I stumbeld upon the Changing of the guard plate by BlueRoseRetro. That blue felt so right and the treasury was almost done when I realized that the darkest shade of blue topaz is actually called London blue. What a coincidence!

Featured shops: thejewelrybar, JenniPenni, lucybluestudio, BlueRoseRetro, envejewelry, AMIdesigns, tmpenrose, stuffbykate, sightseebooks, almapottery, BetaPorHomme, moop

Enjoy the weekend!

Everything finds a way

Tuesday, 29 September 2009

Yesterday I spent too much time on Etsy. Happens often. Stumbled upon wonderful creations and thought - these would make an perfect colour combo for a treasury. So I just had to grab one. Voila!

Featured shops: binkaminka, JaneBoFelt, utilemud, evitabula, consentiodesign, lineanongrata, ledthread, rokdarbi, shecological, loveartworks, KimberlyRose, silentgoddess

By the way Etsy Project Embrace has official Etsy team status now. Many thanks to Kristin from loveartworks!

More teal

Friday, 25 September 2009

Today I made photos of the new scarf for MissScarfy's shop, but since I haven't edited them let's talk about treasuries. Here's one with even more teal than on Wednesday:

Featured shops: ginnyhuber, jennreese7, CopperLeafStudios, yarnovermovement, vadjutka, ingermaaike, sonyarasi, rottencupcakes, ClutchThat, Recession, nevousinstallezpas, mysticfibers

By the way treasury west is opening in less than an hour, so I could try to grab that one too. Meanwhile have nice Friday evening!

Two

Sunday, 30 August 2009

Yesterday I made two treasuries in a row. Started out with back to school theme from the window shopping and since with the right gear you can move mountains I turned it into more general geared for a new project theme:

Featured shops: Evrydiki, buckscountyframes, sycamorestreetpress, lunaticart, avrilloreti, ebenotti, loveartworks, vaisto, melaniefavreau, baahar, maiziedesigns, blissinateacup

Then for the treasury main I played with one of my favourite colour combos - red and blue:

Featured shops: JaneBoFelt, ebenotti, YannPendaries, ememem, jenhewett, UnaOdd, kbuchheit, budpnq, jesophi, adornbyamysingley, EllaPhantePhashion, Sigmosaics

Some of these artists participate in Etsy Project Embrace - see the related Etsy forum thread here.

Animals with superpowers

Monday, 10 August 2009

Here's another treasury that evolved from the weekly window shopping on Etsy - a little more exposure for the featured artists and their creations. And I see it as a kind of creative challenge to expand a small collection of four to the size of a treasury. While I was putting this one together, the previous treasury made to the Etsy front page and this after hours of expiration! A nice surprise from Etsy admin!

Enjoy animals with superpowers (please, read the description of little yellow bear from ememem's shop)!

Featured shops: Huismus, jessjamesjake, OneClayBead, clayswan, ememem, leptitpapillon, danugs, andyeatsonlycandy, XauXau, gretchenmist, 3dots, UnaOdd
