Thank you Aija!

This going to more like post and run entry, but there's someone I want to thank for the Etsy front page feature again. Most likely the last one this year.

Aija a.k.a. sisterstreasure and gooodmorning was so nice to include my soft pink scarf in this wonderful Etsy Project Embrace themed treasury. Thank you so much!

Paris and London

Saturday 12 December 2009

Here are two treasuries before I sign off for the rest of the weekend. The wooden textures from Wednesday inspired me for the first one. I wanted to include the fantastic paris, in pen and paper by studiokmo, so Christmas in Paris was born:

Featured shops: aforfebre, circlesandsquares, lilypottery, studiokmo, locallibrary, ThePeachTree, GollyBard, StudioElenus, goodliving, DingbatPress, lizgrandmaison, piksipiksi

And after Paris there had to be London. Especially after I stumbeld upon the Changing of the guard plate by BlueRoseRetro. That blue felt so right and the treasury was almost done when I realized that the darkest shade of blue topaz is actually called London blue. What a coincidence!

Featured shops: thejewelrybar, JenniPenni, lucybluestudio, BlueRoseRetro, envejewelry, AMIdesigns, tmpenrose, stuffbykate, sightseebooks, almapottery, BetaPorHomme, moop

Enjoy the weekend!

I'm still missing the snow and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one :)

My small white flower brooch has been featured on FoundHandmade.com among other white beauties. Many thanks!!!

Have a great weekend! And if you have something of that cold and white magic around you could you send a few clouds of snow my direction too?

My creative space

Thursday 3 December 2009

My creative space is all about tiny mittens at the moment. Need to restock my Etsy shop a little, but making them is also something I enjoy a lot.

Today

Thursday 26 November 2009

The weather is against me. I need some pine cones for my Christmas decor, but it's too wet to gather them. This is why there's no blog post about my creative space today. I'm just waiting for the rain to stop.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!

Let it snow

Wednesday 25 November 2009

It's time for window shopping on Etsy. I wish these snowflakes on my blog could turn into some real snow on the ground. Will keep fingers crossed.

Smukums

Friday 20 November 2009

I'm much better today - herbs, honey and cranberries are doing their job well and I think treasury making is helping a little too. This one just had to be Latvian ('smukums' means prettiness):

Featured shops: crearting, LivaRutmane, RainbowMittens, sisterstreasure, binkaminka, rokdarbi, BetaBoutique, CristinasLinen, alatvian, ingucite, aiaiai, consentiodesign

Have a nice weekend!

My creative space

Thursday 19 November 2009

My creative space isn't very creative this week. I've got cold. Herb infusion, honey and cranberries have become my best friends. Nevertheless I've been scribbling in my notebook now and then. This is one of those times when dizzy head makes me feel like finding a secret drawer full of forgotten things. Not sure whether I'll implement any of these ideas, but it's fun (and perhaps has some therapeutic effect too).

To play along and see more creative places visit kirsty.

I'm off to make another mug of herb infusion.

Stars and lobsters

I missed treasuries several times, so this one was stuck in the poster sketch for a few days. However yesterday I managed to catch treasury west. Yay! Inspired by the window shopping from last week.

Featured shops: kittyrogers, RedWineDesign, stuffbykate, IstanbulDesigns, belleslettres, BagatellesAndCo, pelpa, RageoftheAge, adornbyamysingley, TheLoudLion, KnotOriginal, Londonfinery

My creative space

Thursday 12 November 2009

Today I'm struggling with photography. It feels like a struggle sometimes, especially when you're trying to shoot by natural light and heavy clouds full of snow are wondering in the sky waiting to burst open. Tried different backgrounds, changed rooms... Almost gave up... And then my eyes were caught by that mother of pearl - one of those beautiful things you keep just because they are beautiful. Haven't finished the shooting and editing yet, but it looks like I might end up with some good enough photos.

Art Nouveau

Wednesday 11 November 2009

It's time for window shopping and this week I want to show you some beautiful Art Nouveau inspired creations. I've always had a soft spot for this style, its motives and palettes, the era in general and I'm glad there are so many Etsy artists who do the same.

And - this should be mentioned - Riga is famous for its beautiful Art Nouveau architecture, so if you happen to be in the capital of Latvia take a stroll through the old town, but don't forget to look for some Art Nouveau as well.

Enjoy!
